Description
A sanitary 3-way diaphragm valve with 1″ Tri-Clamp (Tri-Clover) connections, built for brewery process applications where dead space is the enemy. Diaphragm valves seal against a flexible membrane rather than a wetted ball or seat, eliminating crevices where wort residue or yeast can hide. The 3-way configuration lets you divert flow between two outlets (transfer line vs. CIP return, fermenter vs. brite tank, etc.) with one valve instead of two T-junctioned ball valves.
Technician’s Note: Diaphragm valves are the right call any place you’ll be running CIP (caustic and acid cycles) regularly. Ball valves develop weep paths around the seat over time as the PTFE seals erode, while diaphragms are a single replaceable wetted part. Inspect the diaphragm every 6 months under heavy use; cracking or hardening means it’s time for replacement before it fails mid-transfer. Tri-Clamp gaskets should match the diaphragm material (EPDM with EPDM, Viton with Viton), since mismatched elastomers age at different rates and one will fail first.
