Muntons Extra Light DME is a world-class bulk malt extract produced from the finest 2-row UK barley. At just 2-3 Lovibond, it is one of the palest dry malt extracts available, providing a very clean, crisp wort with a delicate honey-like maltiness. This 55 lb. bulk bag is the most economical choice for professional breweries and high-volume homebrewers. It is the perfect foundation for Pilsners, Lagers, and Light Ales, and is excellent for boosting gravity in all-grain batches without altering the color or flavor profile.
Brewery Tip: DME is highly hygroscopic (absorbs moisture). To avoid clumping and “DME clouds,” whisk the extract into warm strike water before bringing the kettle to a boil. Always ensure the bulk bag is tightly sealed and stored in a cool, dry place. A single 55 lb bag can produce approximately 8-10 batches of 5-gallon beer at a standard gravity.
