What mesh size do I need?
50 mesh: 0.3mm holes – for confectioner’s sugar
30 mesh: 0.6mm holes
14 mesh: 1.4mm holes – for flour
4 mesh: 4.75mm holes – for crumbs
50 mesh is the choice for keeping out tiny bugs or bug parts (for kashrus).
Note: Mesh-hole size affects the speed of sifting (smaller holes meaning slower sifting), so
choose 50 mesh only for sifting out extra-fine particles.
