This assembly ensures that the syrup concentrate and carbonated water are properly isolated until the moment of mixing, preventing flavor cross-contamination (“bleeding”) between different soda selections. Made from high-durability, food-safe polymers, it is designed to withstand the acidic nature of soda concentrates for long-term reliability.
Technician’s Repair Note: If a fountain drink tastes “watery” or has a hint of a different flavor, the syrup separator is likely worn or the O-rings have flat spots. When replacing, ensure the separator is seated fully in the valve housing and lubricate all EPDM seals with food-grade silicone grease (Petrol-Gel) to ensure a perfect, leak-free mix.
