The Wunder-Bar FR-28-E is a high-precision EPDM O-ring specifically engineered for the ceramic cylinder seals found in Wunder-Bar™ flow regulator manifolds. This specialized seal is a critical component for maintaining the pressurized integrity of the bar gun’s “brain,” where syrup and soda water flow rates are calibrated. Manufactured from high-grade EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer), this O-ring offers superior resistance to the repetitive mechanical friction of the ceramic cylinder and the corrosive effects of carbonated water and high-sugar concentrates. Technician’s Note: If your bar gun is “self-dispensing” (creeping) or if you see moisture pooling around the regulator adjustment screws, the FR-28-E O-rings are likely fatigued or flattened. When rebuilding a ceramic manifold, always replace the O-rings in complete sets. It is vital to use a 100% silicone-based food-grade lubricant (like Haynes Lubri-Film) during installation. Never use petroleum-based lubricants (like Vaseline), as they will cause the EPDM material to swell and eventually degrade, leading to a jammed regulator and inconsistent drink quality.
